Since 2007 we have focused on helping thousands of youth take the next step in their faith through Christ centered, responsible, safe, impactful, and fun youth mission trips for middle and high school youth groups (other groups and families welcome!). It's like summer camp with service projects and missions outreach. We're coming back with Next Step because these trips provide a great opportunity for my students to be fed and challenged while also serving other people. They provide intentional time to read, discuss, and interact with God's word as well as time to serve people in the communities we visit and others on our team!

We keep coming back to spend weeks with Next Step each summer because we believe in the work of long term community development and the ways we see teenagers serving alongside partners who aren’t dropping into communities, but are there all year-round. With Next Step, our students get to connect the dots between rich worship with meaningful service. Each trip we’ve been on has left our group with a deeper sense of call in their lives and a deeper echo of God’s love in their souls.

Next Step’s values and commitment to community involvement, that made us want to come and partner with Next Step, not just for a one-time trip, but for a long-term relationship. We landed on South Dakota because it stretches us out of our comfort zone. This being our 5th year, we just love pouring into this community. We leave with a renewed sense of what the gospel is and a renewed sense of our community back home.

We're excited to go on another Next Step Trip because of the faith formation we see in students through serving, worshiping, and being in community. Favorite memories from last year include watching students take leadership roles on the serving projects, seeing the beauty of Kentucky and meeting the people there, and worship in the outdoor amphitheater at Steve's!

I still don’t want to say I can’t believe this, because I have to believe this. God knows my heart. He knew my patience in waiting. And all of sudden somebody tells me about Next Step. I thought they were going to come for 1 week, but now we’re in the 4th week. The work is immaculate. Every minute they’re asking — what can I do for you. I want to say sometimes, Lord what have I done to deserve this? God deserves all the glory.

These mission trips are the highlight of the year for our students! Each year NSM continues to provide meaningful opportunities for us to serve through unique work projects focused on the needs of the community. Our students enjoy spending time with the passionate on-site staff who are focused on providing Christ-Centered opportunities for students to worship, serve and spend time in fellowship with each other. NSM makes planning our mission trips accessible and enjoyable. We can’t wait to see what the future holds as we continue to experience God through this amazing ministry!

Most mission organizations have goals to be Christ-centered, servant-leadership-oriented and fun. Next Step lives out those goals better than any other mission organization that I have seen. We absolutely love the fact that all of the Next Step summer staff actually engage with the students and care about them, whether they’re cooking or cleaning or working construction, they truly engage with the students.

This is my fifth mission trip with Next Step. We always grow really close after our mission trip. I’ve worked everywhere from inner-city Milwaukee to the Pine Ridge Reservation. It’s amazing how many new people you meet. Next Step always makes sure you are paired with people who care and people who really appreciate our help. Every experience is amazing. Every trip is different in its own way. Every trip has impacted my life so much!
