Next Step Recovery House
The tropical shores and lively beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica cover up the drug abuse and poverty that many of the bustling country’s residents face. These problems have plagued the country for many years, torn apart families and left many Jamaicans with little hope for the future.
You can help by partnering with Next Step in building a Recovery House for Jamaican residents who are suffering from alcohol and drug abuse. The Recovery House will reach out to the community by providing a consistent, Christ-centered recovery program.
You will have the opportunity to help build this new facility from the ground up. Expect challenging cement and block work, laying reinforcing steel, digging for the foundation and additional projects as necessary.
Outside of the Recovery House, you will have the chance to help local Jamaicans struggling to meet their basic needs. This might include building a new house or adding onto an existing house. You will be able to spend time with the residents and leave with a better understanding of what life is like in Jamaica behind the hotels.
On your free day, relax on the white sand beaches or travel to Ocho Rios and climb the beautiful waterfalls at Dunn’s River Falls.
You will leave with a new understanding of life Jamaica and what it means to humbly serve others.
