God is All-Knowing
Romans 11:33
"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!"
This scripture comes from a doxology that is a prayer of praise to God for the wisdom of his plan. Although God’s method and means are beyond our comprehension, God himself is not arbitrary. He governs the universe and our lives in perfect wisdom, justice, and love. This should be a comfort to our everyday lives knowing that God knows what’s best for us and has a plan for our lives. We just have to live into it.
Reflection
1. What does the second part of this verse mean to us?
2. Check out Psalms 139: 2-3 to see how personal God really knows us.
3. How does “the depth of His wisdom” make you feel about your purpose in life and the world around you? How about you recent choices?
Take the Next Step
We hopefully now have a little bit of a better understanding of God’s wisdom and knowledge after looking the scripture although it really is impossible for us to fully know how far that reach of God’s wisdom and knowledge goes. We need to take comfort in that he knows all of our pains, struggles, and strengths as well as take into account that this should motivated us to “Be holy in all that we do,” for God is always with us.
