Cause: Crownpoint is home to the beautiful Navajo Nation community; however, below-adequate living conditions have sadly become acceptable after years of being overlooked by others. Crownpoint is in a unique situation in that they have the materials and the resources to raise the standard of living in their community, but they lack the skills and manpower to get the work done. Next Step Ministries is excited to provide the labor needed to give many families and elders in the community a standard of living they have never experienced.

Goal: Next Step Ministries will work with the Navajo Nation, combining our labor with their resources, to greatly improve the living conditions in Crownpoint. Students will build bathroom additions for residents (who are still using outhouses), install toilets, sinks and connect plumbing to a recently installed water line running through the community. They will also do a number of other home repairs, including roofing, framing, building wheelchair accessible ramps and other projects as necessary.
